Ford Cancels $1.6B Mexican Factory After Trump Criticism
Ford Motor Co. killed plans to construct a $1.6 billion plant in Mexico to make small cars. Those plans had made Ford a target of President-elect Donald Trump. Ford will still make the next-generation Focus in Mexico, but at an existing plant. At the same time, Ford announced plans to invest $700 million in Michigan to build electric and autonomous vehicles.
